Vaughn C. Helsing, 79, of Highland died of a heart attack Friday at St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino.

Helsing, a native of South Dakota, lived in Highland six years. He was an aircraft maintenance worker at Norton Air Force Base for 20 years and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in San Bernardino.

Survivors include two brothers, Albert of Rigby, Idaho, and Scott of Warrenton, Va.; and a sister, Jane Scholes of Ventura.

Graveside service will be May 23 at Montecito Memorial Park, Waterman Avenue and Barton Road, Colton. Grove Colonial Mortuary is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, 1250 E. Cooley Drive, Colton 92324.
