Mary A. Herb, 92, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. Born in St. Henry, OH. she worked as a homemaker who focused her time and energy helping others. She worked for GE During WWll. She was also a bookkeeper @ L.S. Ayres & CO and a Hostess at the Fort Wayne Airport Restaurant. She was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Wayne. She was a past Regent of the Daughters of Isabella and was also a member of the Rosary Sodality and a volunteer for Council on Aging and St. Joe Hospital. Mary sewed cancer pads at St Johns Catholic Church with dear friends. She loved to play bingo and cards. She loved music and was a lifelong friend and fan of Joe Taylor and the Red Birds.

Surviving are: daughter, Marilyn L (Carl ) Reinking of Fort Wayne; sons, Raymond A ( Barbara ) Herb of Woodburn, Steven F. Herb, Fort Wayne, and Thomas G ( Janet ) of Haughton LA. Sister Lucille Ramey of Warren; grandchildren, Amy, Danny, Tim, Heather, Amber, DeDee, and Walker; and 5 great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Herb Jr; grandson, Andy Herb; brothers; Herbert, Edward, Norbert and Ralph Gelhaus; and a sister, Gertrude Schaab.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am, May 23, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Fr. Cyril Fernandes officiating. Calling will be at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake AvenueTuesday, May 22, 2012 2pm to 5pm & 7pm to 9pm & Wednesday, May 23, 2012 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the church. A Rosary will be at ,4:30 pm, Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home. Burial in Catholic Cemetery , Fort Wayne, Indiana.
