Alfred W. Knapke, 63, 4292 Fort Recovery-Minster Road, St. Henry, Ohio died on Friday, December 27, 1996 at 2:25 a.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio of natural causes.
He was born on November 25, 1933 in St. Henry, Ohio to Edwin and Margaret (Kramer) Knapke, both deceased. He married Virginia Dues in Carthagena, Ohio on October 6, 1954, she survives.
Other survivors include: three sons and their wives: Tom and Kathy Knapke, Rockville, Indiana; Mike and Marilyn Knapke, Portland, Indiana; John and Doreen Knapke, Kettering, Ohio; one son Mark Knapke, at home; one sister and her husband: Mary Ann and Carl Washburn, Springfield, Ohio; one sister: Nellie Barnes, Chicago, Illinois; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene who died in 1954.
Alfred was a farmer and retired from Lefeld Implement, Inc., Coldwater, and a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church.
Funeral services were held on Monday. December 30, 1996 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Henry with Rev. Larry Wyen officiated. Burial was in St. Henry Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were handled by N.J. Hogenkamp Sons Funeral Home, St. Henry, Ohio.
