Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 14, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Grand Island, Nebr. for Mrs. Marcella Luton, age 54, who died March 11 at a Lincoln, Nebr. hospital. Rev. Thomas Mullowney officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetery there.
Marcella Richter was born Nov. 10, 1924 at Ashton, the daughter of Louis and Ann Hatting Richter. She grew up and was educated in the Ashton area. On Nov. 7, 1944 she married Dan Luton at Ashton. They lived in Sheldon, Melvin, Spencer and Hartley before moving to Columbus, Nebr. In 1966 they moved to Grand Island. For the past nine years Mrs. Luton had been secretary at Blessed Sacrament Church, and active in other organizations as well.
She is survived by her husband; five daughters: Connie and Marabeth, both of Omaha; Mrs. Barbra Boos of St. Joseph, Mo.; Mrs. Rona Rae Melkus of Grand Island; and Janet of Beatrice, Nebr.; five sons: Dennis, Danny, David, Daryl and Dana, all of Grand Island; a brother, Norbert Richter of Sheldon; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Monarch of Little Falls, Minn., and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
