Carol Salz, 85, of Tempe, Arizona passed away on January 15, 2009 in Tempe. A Funeral Mass was held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 2121 S. Rural Rd., in Tempe. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday., with a Prayer and Remembrance Service at 7:30 p.m. at Tempe Mortuary 405 E. Southern Ave., in Tempe. Burial was in Dubuque, Iowa.
Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don and daughter, Judy. She is survived by her children Debbie, Donna, Andy, Mary, and Greg, and 10 grandchildren, and is missed by many other friends and relatives. She was very close with her 5 siblings.
Carol was a graduate of Clarke University in Dubuque, IA, and worked for many years in the Arizona State University library. She was a caring person who did many charitable works, in hospitals and at church as well as delivering Meals on Wheels. Carol was interested in medicine and enjoyed bridge, golf, and music. She kept active and is honored by a memorial plaque at the Tempe Pyle Recreational Center. There is also a memorial bench for Carol and Don at the Dubuque Arboretum.
