John N. Breck, 88, Ruthven, a retired farmer, died Thursday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roy Beck, after a long iillness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Lost Island Lutheran church at 2p.m. with Rev. C. J. Fjelstul officiating. The Lightle-Hayes Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Lost Island Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Weldon Bolie, Floyd Eaton, Andrew Hermansen, Leo Moran, Ralph McCullah, and Haakon Thoreson.

He was born January 18, 1873 at Jesup, Iowa where he lived until coming to Graettinger where he was a buttermaker over 60 years ago.

He was married to Ella Thomas April 17, 1921. She died January 17, 1929. To this union four children were born. They are Mrs. Roy (Ella Mae) Beck, Ruthven; Mrs. Marjorie Cox, Iowa City; John Breck Jr., Imperial, Nebraska; Mrs. Roderick (Frances) LaPoint, El Cajon, California.

His four children and three grandchildren mourn his passing. His wife and four sisters preceeded him in death.
