Algona Couple Were Married in Nebraska.
Harold Lampright, the city letter carrier, and Miss Marie Carney stole a march on their friends in July and drove to Fremont, Nebraska, where they visited at the home of Miss Carney's sister, Mrs. A. L. Hansen. While there they took advantage of the laws in that state and secured a marriage license. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Griffith, pastor of the Presbyterian church, in the presence of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Hansen Tuesday, July 21. A few days later the Catholic ceremony was performed at St. Cecelia's parsonage in Algona by Father T. J. Davern. The wedding was kept secret until a clipping was received from a Fremont newspaper telling of the granting of a license by County Judge Fred O. Laird of that city. Mr. and Mrs. Lampright will live in the Seeley house at 614 East McGregor street, which they are now furnishing and will be at home to their friends in a few days.
The groom is a son of Mrs. Charles Lampright and has been a letter carrier in Algona for a number of years. He is a young man with many friends. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Robert Carney and for several years has been a trusted employe at the Graham store. She is popular with her associates and one of Algona's finest girls.
