LOUIS M. GETTLER

 

Louis M. Gettler, age 72, formerly of 1338 Water St., Chippewa Falls, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Sunday at the Chippewa County Hospital.

He was born December 9, 1898 in Varina, Iowa, son of Wenzel Gettler and Anna Englert. He was married to Gertrude Trebon January 8, 1924 at Holy Ghost Church, Chippewa. He was a lifetime resident of this area and was employed at the Zutter Elevator for 23 years, retiring in 1958 due illness. He was a member of Notre Dame Church.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude, two sons, Louis and Bernard, both of Chippewa Falls, seven daughters, Mrs. Victor (Dorothy) Figlmiller of Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Ed (Norma) Giveajna, Boyd, Mrs. Alfred (Marie) Krause of Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Kenneth (Delores) Anderson, Cumberland, Mrs. Eugene (Yvonne) Doucette, Chippewa Falls, Mrs. John (Darlene) Borton of Chippewa Falls and Mrs. Robert (Carole) Marsolek of Rochester, Minn., one brother, Joseph Gettler of Kansas City, Mo., and five sisters, Mrs. Carl (Marion) Prueher, Chippewa Falls, Mrs. John (Betty) Stinman, Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Mike Francis)

Archambault, Bancroft, Mich., Mrs. Ernest (Clara) LaMasters, Flint, Mich., and Mrs. Lenora Boyll, Detroit, Mich., 33 grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph and daughter, Joyce, his parents, and four sisters, Margaret, Emma, Veronica and Florence.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Notre Dame Church with interment to be made in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday (today) at the Burkart-Horan Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
