Funeral services were held for Henry Hatting, who died suddenly Monday morning, September 21, in St. Mary's Catholic church. Msgr Neppl officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery.

Henry Bernard Hatting, son of the late Henry Hatting, was born October 25, 1888, at Breda, Ia., at the age of 5 years he came to Ashton with his parents and lived on a farm near their until his death. January 27, 1914, he was married to Eleanor Richter. To this union 2 daughters were born, Regina and Carolyn. His wife and daughter Regina passed away December 4, 1945.

May 21, 1918, he married Margaret Seitz at Brighton, Wis. To this union 10 children were born.

He leaves to mourn his wife and 9 children, 10 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, one brother Frank and 2 sisters, Mrs. Frances Osterholt of Breda and Mrs. Gertrude Selvert, Ashton. Cpl. Donald Satting of St. Mazaire, France, did not get here for his father's funeral.

Pallbearers were, Al Strouth, Carl Wimmer, Theodore Klein, Frank Kolbeck, Ben Arning and Leonard Thornsen.

Relatives and friends attended the funeral from Union Grove, Wilmont, Salem, Wis., Worthington, Adrian, Lismore, Luverne, Ellsworth and Brooten, Minn., Sibley, Sheldon, Sanborn, LeMars, Ocheyedan, Remsen, LeMars, Lake Park, Breda, Carroll, Stuart, Sac City, Wall Lake, Sioux City, Spirit Lake, Everly, Lake View, Ia., Emory and Rapid City, S.D.

Research notes for Henry

After Ella's death, he married Margaret Cecilia Seitz (1896 – 1979). He had 10 children with Cecilia.

The obit is quite badly written and contains several errors.
