Funeral services for John Keninger were held October 15 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Ashton. Fr. Joseph Kerwin and Fr. George B. McFadden officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery at Ashton, with Bolin Funeral Serivce of George in charge ofarrangements.
John Keninger was born July 5, 1939 at Sibley to William and Caroline Hatting Keninger. He was a lifelong resident of the Ashton area. On July 17, 1974 he married Linda Kruse at Ashton. They farmed near Ashton. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. He died October 11 at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City at the age of 51.
He is survived by his wife; two brothers, Donald and wife Doretena Keninger of Ashton and Vince and wife Lois Keninger of Sibley. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son Robert, in 1989.
