Joanne Marie Thompson Sims went home to be with her daughter Angela Sims McCart on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Wuesthoff Memorial Hospital, Melbourne. Joanne was born in Waterloo, IA, the 24th of May, 1936.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Thompson and Nanette Trebon Thompson; brother Joseph (Peggy) Thompson; sister Rosie (Keith) Crowley, and her daughter, Angela McCart.

She is survived by her sister, Betty (Kenneth) Summy; daughter, Eileen Sims Smith; son, Robert (Marybeth) Sims; and five grandchildren, Steven Smith, Christopher (Caren) Sims, David Sims, Raymond Sims and Gregory Sims.

Joanne was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and her cats.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Wuesthoff Hospital (the 2nd floor) and Brevard Hospice for the kind and loving care both Joanne and her family received in this most trying time.

A Memorial Service will be held at Howard Futch Park 5:00 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2006. In of flowers the family asks that you donate to a local charity of your choice.
