Willard E. Strohfus, 55, 2116 Davis Drive died today at 7:30 a.m. at his home following an apparent heart attack.

He resided in Belvidere for three years and formerly lived in Watertown, S. Dak. He was employed as a material handler at Chrysler Corporation.

Mr. Strohfus was born in Henry, S. Dak. on Aug. 28, 1916, the son of Julius and Christina Lantgen Strohfus. He married Lavina Richter on June 5, 1943 in Kranzberg, S. Dak.

He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus of Watertown and U.A.W. No. 1268.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Kenneth of Aberdeen, S. Dak., LaVerne, Belvidere, Jerry, serving with the United States Navy at Norfolk, Va., Donald and Dale, both at home; one daughter, Elaine of Belvidere; four brothers, John of Hazel, S. Dak., Clarence of Fort Pierre, S. Dak., Harold of Norwalk, Calif., and Anthony of Watertown; one sister, Mrs. Clayton Edwards, Bradley, S. Dak.; and one granddaughter.

Mr. Strohfus was predeceased by his parents.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Mathiesen-Gergen-Rhodes Funeral Home in Watertown. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Watertown.

Local arrangements were made by Buck-Wheeler Funeral Home.
