Joseph Althoff, 83, 2616 Lincoin Rd., former fuel dealer here, die dearly this morning at Brookside following a long illness.
A native of Burlington, he was born on Jan. 29, 1875, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Althoff, and received his education in schools there. On Oct. 16, 1900, he married Miss Katherine Scherer.
Althoff resided in New Munster before coming to Kenosha in 1921. Between 1923 and 1941, he operated the Wisconsin Fuel Company.
He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by three sons and a daughter, Edward, Leon and John, all of Kenosha; and Miss Mary, Nowata, Okla.; a sister, Mrs. John Kersting, Lilly Lake, Wis.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Frank.
ALTHOFF - Funeral services for the late Joseph Althoff, of 2616 Lincoln Road will be held on Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Bruch Funeral Home and Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. from St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment will follow in St. George's Cemetery. Parish and Holy Name Society will have Rosary Services at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Friends may call at the Bruch Funeral Home after 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
