Nicholas Barbian, 81, Dies Tuesday Night
Nicholas M. Barbian, 81, died at 10:45 p. m. Tuesday at his home at 508 Randolph street. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Barbian, the deceased was born May 28, 1861, at St Martins, Wis., and grew up in that locality.
He was married to Mary Althoff, at St. Alphonsus' Catholic church, New Munster, on Sept. 25, 1894. Many years of their married life were spent on a farm near Brighton. Four years ago they retired and came to Burlington to make their home. Surviving his death are his widow and seven children, Frank Barbian, Brighton; Jack and Harry Barbian, Burlington; Ray Barbian, Winthrop, Iowa; Sgt. Leo Barbian, Lowry Field, Colo.; Mrs. Joe Lenz, Wheatland and Mrs. Earl Wilson, Burlington. He is also survived by two sisters, Theresa and Helen Barbian, Milwaukee; a brother, Toy Barbian, also of Milwaukee, and by 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic church. Rev. Edward Kersting will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
