Eugene B. Burns, age 62, of Mazomanie, died on Monday, June 9, 2003, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, Madison.

He was born in Richland County on Oct. 29, 1940, the son of Lloyd and Mildred (Dosch) Burns. He was united in marriage to Reginia Lenz in February 1984. Gene loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Local 139 Operating Engineers since 1958.

He is survived by his wife, Regina of Mazomanie; his son, Joshua of Mazomanie; mother, Mildred of Mazomanie; brother, Jack of Mazomanie; and three sisters, Ariel Ann Lenz of Salem, Jeanette (Virgil) Ruhland of Mazomanie, and Ellen May Casey of Madison. He was preceded in death by his father.

A funeral service will be held at GNEWIKOW - HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Highway 14 West, Mazomanie, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2003, with Father Kevin Dooley officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Richland Center Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11. 2003. and also after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
