Mrs. Catherine Althoff, 79, Dies at Elkhorn
Mrs. Catherine Althoff, 79, widow of the late Joseph Althoff, died Tuesday evening at Walworth County Hospital in Elkhorn following a long illness.
A native Of New Munster, Wis., she was born June 10, 1879, daughter of the late John and Mary Kerkman Scherrer, and received her education in schools there. On Oct. 16, 1900, she married Joseph Althoff who died on July 25, of this year.
Survivors include three sons and a daughter, Edward, Leon and John Althoff, all of Kenosha; and Miss Mary, Nowata, Okla.; six sisters and two brothers, Sister M. Lydia, Ayrshire, Ia.; Miss Elizabeth, Miss Agnes, Miss Anna Scherrer, Mrs. Josephine Meurer and Mrs. Theresa Dorn, all of Kenosha; John Scherrer, Kenosha; and Frank, Arvada, Colo.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Frank, a brother, Henry, and two sisters. Mrs. Carrie Lubeno and Mrs. Mary Epping.
ALTHOFF-Private funeral services for the late Mrs. Catherine Althoff, will be held from the Crossin Funeral Home Saturday morning, November 22nd, at 9:30 o'clock. A solemn requiem high mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas church at 10 o'clock. Interment will follow in St. George cemetery.
