Lucille Elizabeth Richter, 90, passed away at her home on Saturday, October 12, 2002. Lucille was born on July 21, 1912, in Brighton. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Rose (nee: Ehlen) Daniels. Her early life was spent on the Daniels' home farm in Brighton. She married Bert Richter on September 2, 1933, at St. Francis Xavier in Brighton. Lucille spent her married life in the Township of Wheatland on their family farm. Since 1977, the married couple resided in New Munster. Bert preceded her in death on September 18, 1995. She was educated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Grade School in Brighton. She was a Homeaker and mother of seven children. Her favorite hobbies were card playing with family and friends, gardening, and enjoying time outdoors. She also had fond memories of traveling with friends and family. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, their Catholic Women's Order of Foresters, and member of the Ladies Guild. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Surviving are six children, Dale (Phyllis) Richter of Lily Lake, Margie (Joe) Kerr of Burlington, Doris (Keith) Esmond of Lake Geneva, Joanne Ross of Paddock Lake, Patricia (Leroy) Vos of Burlington, and Rose (Dave) Pfanzelter of Libertyville, Ill.; two sisters, Gert Lois of New Munster and Betty Remer of Burlington. Other survivors are a son-in-law, Robert Aldrich of Burlington; two sisters-in-law, Alice Daniels of New Munster and Loraine Daniels of Burlington; 24 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Richter; a daughter Darlene Aldrich; a granddaughter, Jacklin Richter; six brothers Fred, Edwin (Bernie), Norbert, Cletus, Clarence, and Leon; a sister, Eleanor Daniels; and brother-in-law, Leon (Eleanor) Richter.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in New Munster on Wednesday, October 16, 2002, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home at 625 South Browns Lake Drive in Burlington on Tuesday from 4 until 8:30 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil service at 8 p.m. SCHUETTE-DANIELS FUNERAL HOME 625 South Browns Lake Drive Burlington262-763-3434
