William B. Richter
Funeral services for William B. Richter, 76, of Rock Valley, who died Thursday at the University hospital in Iowa City, were held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic church in Rock Valley.
Father E. Hoffman officiated and burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery with Vander Ploeg's Funeral service in charge.
Mr. Richter was born May 22, 1882, at Rock Valley, where he grew to manhood. He was operator of the Central Garage there for 25 years and was also employed by the Iowa Highway Commission and the Community Oil Company.
On June 14, 1932 he married Marie Klein at Timber Lake, S.D., and to this union three children were born.
He is survived by his widow Marie; two children, Dr. Francis Richter of Davenport and Mary Ann at home; one brother, Edward H. Richter of Madison, S.D., and three sisters, Mrs. Kate Schemmer of Rock Valley, Mrs. Dan Crowley of Canby, Minn.
One son, William, preceded him in death.
