Leo E. Hansen

 

Leo E. Hansen, 76, of 828 Riehl St., died Saturday, Dec. 18, at Allen Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born April 23, 1917, son of Alfred and Jensine Thomsen Hansen. He married Esther H. Renz on Sept. 13, 1944, in El Paso, Texas.

Mr. Hansen served with the U.S. Army Costal Artillery during World War II. He was employed with the Black Hawk County Conservation Board from 1957-80, and was the director for the last three years of his employment.

Survived by: his wife; and a sister, Elly Eddy of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: an infant daughter, and a brother, Elmer.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Dunkerton American Legion Post 636. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball and an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials: made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, or the American Heart Association.
