HAWKEYE
Funeral services for Randy L. Scholbrock, 46, of Brighton, Mich., formerly of Hawkeye, will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the United Methodist Church in Hawkeye. The Rev. Dave Meyer will officiate.
Visitation was scheduled for 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Hawkeye and for one hour preceding services at the church today.
Interment will be in the Hawkeye Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Arnold-Rogers American Legion Post 312 of Hawkeye. Casket bearers will be Christopher Scholbrock, Larry Voshell, Matt Scholbrock, Travis Scholbrock, Shawn Voshell, and Jeremy Scholbrock.
Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Hawkeye, is handling the arrangements.
Randy's death occurred Friday, May 6, 2005, after a boating accident at Lake Shelbyville in Shelbyville, Ill.
Randy Lee Scholbrock, son of Herbert and Donna (Richmond) Scholbrock, was born Jan. 1, 1959, in West Union. He was baptized and confirmed at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union.
Randy attended Holy Name Parochial School until third grade and then attended Hawkeye Elementary. He graduated from North High School in 1978. He graduated from diesel tech school in February 1988.
Randy served with the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard from 1979 until his retirement in 1999.
On June 4, 1988, Randy was united In marriage with Julia Williams in Lakewood, Colo. To this union five children were born.
At the time of his death, he working as a diesel fuel technician for Robert Bosch Co. in Farmington Hills, Mich.
Randy was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Brighton, Mich.
Preceding him in death was his brother Donald on April 14, 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Julia, of Brighton, Mich.; five children, Bradley Scholbrock of West Union, Cory Scholbrock of Ossian, Jason Scholbrock of Brighton, Mich., Coleen (Kenneth) Lisauskas of Brighton, Mich., Heather Scholbrock at home; and four grandchildren.
Also surviving are Randy's parents, Herbert and Donna Scholbrock of West Union; his siblings, Dennis (Debra) Scholbrock of West Union, Barb (Ron) Voshell of Oelwein, Kenneth (Christie) Scholbrock of Hawkeye, Steven (Inez) Scholbrock of Denver, Colo., and Charles (Joan) Scholbrock of Waucoma, many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
