ROCK VALLEY

 

Cornelius "Neal" Bogaard, 85 of Rock Valley, died Friday at a Rock Valley nursing home after a lengthy illness.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Valley. The Rev.Patrick J. Nooney officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rosary was recited 8 p.m. Monday at the Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley.

Mr. Bogaard was born Feb. 26, 1891, in Orange City, He married Catherine Lowery April 28, 1919, in Chicago. He worked as a carpenter at Rock Valley and was a veteran of World War I and a 57-years member of the American Legion.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Donald of North Little Rock, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. L.M.(Elaine) Keegan of Claendon Hills, ILL., and Mrs. R.C. (Helen) Qualls of Engelwood, Colo.; three brothers,William of Glendale, Calif., Dr. David of Sterling, ILL., and Joseph of Sioux City; three sisters, Mrs. John (Helen) Brink and Miss Elizabeth, both of Glendale, and Mrs. Kenneth (Winefred) Colman of Grosse Point Wood, Mich., and five grandchildren.
