Fred Schemmer, 40, Winter Haven, was killed yesterday in an automobile collision in the southwest section of this Canadian city.

A project manager for the Lakeland chemical engineering firm of Wellman-Lord Inc., he was in Canada supervising the construction of a potash mine.

Two other persons in the car with Schemmer, also Wellman-Lord employes, received only minor cuts and bruises.

A resident of 241 E. Lake Deer Dr, in Winter Haven, Schemmer is survived by his widow, Mrs. Renala K. Schemmer; sons, Mark, Gary and Glen Schemmer, all Winter Haven; a daughter, Miss Kim Schemmer, Winter Haven; his father in California; a sister in Mohawk, N.Y.; and two brothers.
