Mrs. Herbert Lois Passes Away
Mrs. Herbert Lois, 34, passed away Wednesday evening at Burlington Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Lois, nee Lucille Richter, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Richter. She was born Nov. 25, 1919, and her entire life was spent in this vicinity. She attended the Wheatland school, St. Alphonsus parochial school, and Burlington High School. On Sept. 23, 1943, she was married to Herbert Lois at St. Alphonsus Church in New Munster.
Survivors are her husband; two children, Kathie and John; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Richter; a brother, Ray Richter, all of Wheatland; two sisters, Mrs. John Wiemer of Burlington and Shirley Richter of Wheatland.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning from the McCarthy funeral home and 10 o’clock at St. Alphonsus Church, New Munster. Burial was in the church cemetery, with Rev. Joseph Michels officiating.

Mrs. Herbert Lois, 34, Dies of Long Illness
Mrs. Herbert Lois, 34, Wheatland, died yesterday at the Burlington Memorial hospital following a long illness. Born Lucille Richter in Wheatland, Nov. 25, 1919, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Richter, she attended the county schools and graduated from Burlington High school.
On Sept. 23, 1943, she married Herbert Lois. Mrs. Lois was a member of St. Alphonsus church and the Christian Mothers society of the parish.
In addition to her husband, survivors are a son and a daughter, John and Katherine, both at home; her parents, Wheatland; a brother and two sisters, Ray and Miss Shirley Richter, both of Wheatland; and Mrs. John Wiemer, Burlington.
