[RAYMOND CENTER section]
Several attended the funeral of Mrs. John Hoffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Morgenson of this place, at Racine, Thursday.
The funeral obsequies held last Thursday over the remains of Mrs. John Hoffman were impressive and largely attended by her many sorrowing friends of this place, which attested the high regard entertained by our people for this estimable woman. The services were held at the Baptist church of Racine and by Rev. Olson, whose words of hope and consolation were impressingly fitting for the solomnities of the occasion, at the close of which, interment was made at Mound cemetery.
The deceased was born April 12, 1890, in Raymond Center, this being her home until she was married to John Hoffman about three years ago. Since that time until the time of her death, May 13, 1912, she made her home in Racine.
She leaves a beloved husband and three step children and one son and a loving father and mother, two sisters and one brother to mourn loss.

Hoffman
On Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock, John Hoffman, Jr., two months old son of John Hoffman of this City, died at Raymond Center. A little over two months ago the wife of Mr. Hoffman and mother of the son, died of blood poisoning. Mr. Hoffman will have the heartfelt sympathy of all in this his second sad affliction within so short a space of time.

The Search for 3rd Wife(?)
In searching for John's 1930 and 1940 census records, I came across these...
1930 Census Record - Alden, McHenry, Illinois
1940 Census Record - Rochester, Racine, Wisconsin

I believe this to be him. Mostly from the 1940 record as it matches John's daughter's (Mabel) obit. information. But who is Carrie? Then I found this...

From The Racine Journal Times - 26 Aug 1924
MARRIAGE LICENSES
Word has been received at this office that marriage licenses have been issued in Waukegan, Ill. to John Hoffman and Carrie Werdemann, and Elias Anderson and Mary Hermes all of Racine.

Then I have this...which is not terribly helpful, but its something...

From The Racine Journal Times - 15 Jun 1943
[SECTION "COUNTY NEWS" Subsection "HONEY CREEK"]

All efforts to pull on these strings have failed me.
