Funeral services for Joe Keegan, 62, of Doon will be held today (Wednesday) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Valley, with interment in Hillside Cemetery, Doon.
He died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1993, at his home due to cancer.
Mr. Keegan was born May 6, 1931, in Doon. He graduated from Doon High School in 1949. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War, from 1951 to 1955.
On Sept. 9, 1961, he married Delores Zeutenhorst in Alvord. They lived in Doon where he worked for the Doon Elevator for five years before working at the Rock Valley Elevator. He was also part owner of the George Elevator and the Edna Elevator.
He was a member of the Doon American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul of Doon and Matt of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Jennifer Keegan of Fort Dodge, Alison Keegan of Cedar Rapids and Molly, at home; one grandson; two brothers, Jack of Edina, Minn., and Bill of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three sisters, Mrs. Mel (Janet) Wilton of Enid, Okla., Mrs. Louis (Connie) Tysver of Storm Lake and Mrs. Dean (Mary) Rosenberg of Sioux Falls, S.D., and his mother, Frances Keegan of Doon.
