Mrs. Robert Lenz, 51. Rt. 2, Salem, died unexpectedly at her home Sunday.

She was born Sophie Banas in Genoa City, Wis., on June 13, 1924, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Banas. She spent her early life in Genoa City and attended Randall Township school.

On Sept. 27, 1947, at St. Alphonsus church, New Munster, she married Robert Lenz. Following their marriage they resided in Wheatland Township. Mrs. Lenz was a member of St. Alphonsus church and the Christian Mothers society, and was a former 4-H leader.

Survivors besides her husband are a daughter. Regina, and a son, Leonard, both at home; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Chesick, Burlington; Mrs. Joseph (Bernice) Rebl, Chicago; and Mrs. Richard (Evelyn) Elverman, New Munster; and two brothers, Walter Banas, Genoa City; and Frederick, Waukegan.

Mrs. Lenz was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.


LENZ-Funeral services for the late Mrs. Robert (Sophie) Lenz, of Rt. 2 Salem, will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, Oct. 29th from St. Alphonsus Church, New Munster. Interment in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Friends may call at the McCarthy-Koenig Funeral Home, 473 Milwaukee, Ave, Burlington, Wisc. after 4 P.M. on Tuesday.
