Leslie J. Schlax

 

Leslie J. Schlax, 85, 6235 Seventh Ave., died Tuesday morning (March 28, 1989) at the Kenosha Hospital and Medical Center.

The son of the late Peter M. and Catherine (Richter) Schlax, he was born Sept. 24, 1903, in Wilmot.

A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he attended local schools.

He formerly owned and operated the Schlax Insurance Agency.

In July 1928, in Kenosha, he married Rosalie Spakowicz.

A past supervisor of the Kenosha County Board, he served 12 years on the Kenosha School Board, and was a past member of the Lay Advisory Board of the Benedictine Sisters at Benet Lake.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree, Council No. 973, and past state secretary of the KCs, and charter member, life member and past president of the Kenosha Optimist Club.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Jim, of Kenosha; and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Peterson, Minneapolis, Minn.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Francis.

The Bruch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


SCHLAX-Funeral services for the late Leslie J. Schlax of 6235 7th Avenue, who passed away on March 28th, will be held on Friday, March 31st at 10:30 A.M. from the Bruch Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A M. from St. Mary Catholic Church. Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Bruch Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M. on Thursday. Members of the Knights of Columbus will meet for a Rosary service at 6:30 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to St. Mary Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
