Funeral services for John R. Kaskie were held here Tuesday at the St. Mary's church with Fr. David McGoey officiating. Interment was made at the St. Mary's cemetery.

Mr. Kaskie died last Saturday at the age of 67. His death came suddenly, following a sudden attack of what was diagnosed as an acute case of pneumonia. He died at the home of his brother Ollie near Rock Valley.

John R. Kaskie was born at Fairbanks, Iowa in 1881. At the age of five he came to Sioux county with his parents, where he resided continuously until his death. For the past 24 years he made his home with his brother Ollie.

Survivors include four brothers and four sisters: Henry, Ollie and Leo of Rock Valley and Joe of Inglewood, California and sisters - Frisa and Pauline of Rock Valley, Mrs. Joe Langan of Aurora, So. Dak., and Mrs. L. Friesen of Newark, New Jersey.

Pallbearers were Bert McKinney, Matt Baatz, Frank O'Meara, Joe Hevern, John Cullinan and Charles Van Voern.

Relatives attending the services from a distance include the following: Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kaskie of Mitchell, So. Dak.; Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Kaskie, Lawrence and Adeline Kaskie of Montrose So. Dak.; Mr. and Mrs. John Kotz of Sioux Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Langdon and Mildred of Washington, D. C.; Mrs. Margaret Kaskie of Gary, So. Dak.; Mr. and Mrs. Nels Bratten of Canton and Mr. Martin Friesen of Sioux City.
