BURLINGTON, Wis, Dec. 17

 

Mrs. Charles Schemmer, a well known Burlington business woman, who since the death of her husband some eight years ago, has successfully conducted the Hillside grocery, died at her home on Geneva street Tuesday morning after an illness of only a few hours. She had not been, enjoying the best of health since last summer but did not take to her bed until Monday night. Funeral services were held from St. Mary's Catholic church at 9 o'clock Friday morning. Rev. J.A. VanTreeck officiating and her remains laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. Mary Rossmiller was born in this city Feb. 12, 1874 and on Oct. 12, 1897, was united in marriage with Charles Schemmer. One son was born, Urban, who now survives. She is also survived by four brothers and one sister, William Rossmiller, Marshfield; John, Racine; William and George and Mrs. William Forge of this city.
