Miss Josephine Schemmer, 81, McCormick Home, died Thursday afternoon in a local hospital after a short illness.

She resided in Chicago most of her life. After retirement she lived in New Holstein and Green Bay with her brother, Msgr. George Schemmer. Since his death in 1955 she had lived at the McCormick Home. She was also preceded in death by two more brothers, the Rev. Joseph Schemmer and Dr. Anthony Schemmer and two sisters, Catherine and Mary Schemmer.

Survivors are a nephew, John Karl Schemmer and a grandnephew, John Anthony Schemmer, both of New York and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Anthony Schemmer, Colby.

Friends may call at Schauer and Schumacher Funeral Home after 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery at Chilton.
