Adolph Trebon
Funeral service were held at Saint Mary's Catholic Church on Tuesday morning at 9:00 o'clock for Adolph Trebon who passed away Saturday September 26, 1942 at the age of eighty years three months and six days.
Adolph Trebon was born in Buchanan County, Iowa, June 20, 1862. He spent two years farming near Bloomington, Neb. and Storm Lake and came to Sioux County about 1889. He married Miss Anna Kaskie. He and his young bride settled on a farm near Hudson, S.D. and after two years bought a farm seven miles west and a mile south where they lived for five years. The Trebon family then moved to south Rock Valley where they have since, till death parted them, continued to reside. Mrs. Trebon preceded her husband in death six years ago.
He is survived by his two daughters, Miss Eva Trebon and Mrs. Lawrence Richter, two sisters, Mrs. F.P. Berger of Sioux City and Mrs. J.A. Beierschmitt, Fairbanks.
He was laid to rest in St. Mary's cemetery following a requiem mass read by Father David McGoey. Pall bearers were Frank O'Meara, Thos. Higgins, Wm. Balzer, F.T. McGill, John and Patrick Rielly.
Relatives and friends from distance attending the funeral were Charles, Henry and Gustav Trebon of Fairbanks, Mrs. F.P. Berger of Sioux City and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Beers and Mrs. Joe Kable of Howard, S.D., Lawrence and Adeline Kaskie, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Kaskie of Montrose, S.D., Mrs. Joe Kaskie, Madison, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kaskie and son Myles, Mitchell, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. John Kotz and Leo Kotz, Sioux Falls, S.D., Mrs. O.F. Ogden, Lennox, S.D. and Miss Mable Anderson, Elk Point, S.D.
