Age 74. Passed away Saturday, March 1, 1980, at Memorial Hospital in Burlington. Mr. Kelly was born on October 18, 1905, in Burlington to Richard and Catherine (Reuschlein) Kelly. He had spent his early life and was educated in Burlington at St. Mary's Grade School, Burlington High School, Ripon College, and Marquette Law School, graduating in 1937. Mr. Kelly was united in marriage to Irene Richter at St. Charles Church in Burlington on October 14, 1933. They resided in Burlington following their marriage. He was an Attorney at Law, and was the Senior partner of Kelly and Richter Law Firm. Mr. Kelly was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Holy Name Society, Secretary of St. Mary's School Society, Member of St. Mary's Board of Consulters and Building Committee, past Grand Knight and Fourth Degree Member of Knights of Columbus, Burlington City attorney from 1940 until 1960, member of Burlington Kiwanis Club, an honorary member of the Woolsack Society at Marquette University. He was an active member of Burlington Savings & Loan Association, elected to the Board as Secretary in January 1941, elected President and Counsel in January of 1958 and was elected Chairman of the Board in January of 1977. Surviving are his wife, Irene; daughters and sons-in-law, Jacqueline and Eugene J. Rueter of Burlington, Patricia und Richard Killen of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandsons, three granddaughters; one brother, Ned Kelly of Burlington. He was preceded in death by one son, Robert S. Kelly in 1965. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. this (Monday) evening at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Burlington. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday. Friends may call after 4.00 p.m. today (Monday) at St. Mary's Church. Wake Vigil will be at 5:30 p.m. today. Memorials to St. Mary's Heritage Fund and School Society.
