James D. McCarthy, 72, Burlington, died Tuesday (March 5, 1996) at Burlington Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 7, 1923 in Brighton, the son of Joseph and Matilda (Lasee) McCarthy.
He attended St. Charles Grade School in Burlington and Racine County Agricultural School.
On Feb. 19, he married Kathleen A. Luke at St. Alphonsus Church, New Munster.
He was employed as a farmer and at Nestle Foods for 21 years, and retired in 1989.
A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Burlington, he was a former trustee at St. Alphonsus Church, New Munster. He also belonged to the Wheatland Fire Department, Burlington Car Club and Knights of Columbus in Burlington.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Ann Voge, Union Grove, and Carol Dexter and Jane McCarthy, both of Burlington; six sons, Dennis, Paddock Lake, Neil, Lexington, Ky., Patrick, Stevens Point, Robert, Brownwood, Texas, and Joseph and Steven, both of Burlington; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Weis, Burlington, and 21 grandchildren.
Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, Burlington, is in charge of arrangements.
MC CARTHY - Funeral services for the late James D. McCarthy of Burlington, who passed away Tuesday, March 5, 1996, will be held on Saturday, March 9 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Burlington, with the Rev. David Reith officiating. Interment in St. Charles Cemetery, Burlington. Friends may call on Saturday, March 9th from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's School, Inc.
