Rosemary Kerkman, 79, formerly of Twin Lakes, late of Sylmar, Calif., died Sunday (June 11, 2000) at her home.
Born Dec. 22, 1920, in Kansasville, she was the daughter of the late Mayme Nelson.
She spent her early years in Rosewood, attending Rosewood Grade School and Burlington High School.
On April 21, 1942, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, New Munster, she married Leon A. Kerkman. He died on Jan. 6, 1980.
A Twin Lakes resident for 30 years, she owned and operated Village Realty and Insurance from 1965 to 1980 when she moved to California. There she owned and operated GIT Travel in Mission Hills from 1981 to 1996.
She was a member of St. Didacus Catholic Church of Sylmar, Calif., and Oakridge Rec Club.
Surviving are her daughter, Joanne Kerkman of Sylmar; a sister, Bea North of Chatsworth, Calif.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A son, Jerome L., preceded her in death.
Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, Burlington, is in charge of the arrangements.
KERKMAN - Mass of Christian Burial for the late Rosemary Kerkman will be celebrated Saturday, June 17, 2000 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Biersack officiating.
