BEERS - KASKIE
The marriage of Miss Ida Pearl Kaskie and Mr. Peter Beers was solemnized at St. Mary's Catholic church Tuesday morning, at nine o'clock. Rev. Father O'Rielly, pastor, officiating.
Miss Addie Kaskie, sister of the bride was bridesmaid, and Mr. Beers, brother of the groom, was groomsman. The bride was beautifully attired in white and carried a bou[qu]et of pink roses. The altar was [de]corated in green, white and pink. [M]iss Anna Henningfeld played the [wed]ding march, while the near rel[ative]s of the contracting parties [were p]resent to congratulate them [...] as the ceremony was over.
[Miss] Kaskie is the eldest daughter [of Mr. a]nd Mrs. William Kaskie and [...]d favorably known to scores [...] While the groom is a [...] the writer, he has a [...f]riends in and about Al[...]me. IDA BEERS Obituary
Funeral services were held at St. Agatha Church, Howard, for Mrs. Peter Beers, who died at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Mitchell, at the age of 74 years and 11 months.
Father H. P. Kolbeck officiated at the funeral mass. Pallbearers were: Robert Truman, Francis DeLay, Donald Lauer, Ralph Buthe, Herbert Horwedel and Eugene Kolbach.
Ida Pearl Kaskie was born Feb. 21, 1885 at Storm Lake, Iowa. She was married to Peter Beers April 16, 1907 at Rock Valley, Iowa. They moved to Howard from Bridgewater in 1917, where she lived until October of 1956 when she was taken to the Henry Buthe home to be cared for after suffering a stroke.
Mr. and Mrs. Beers celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in April of 1952.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include her five children, all of whom attended the funeral: Angelo Beers, Howard; Mrs. Helen Kuhle, Roswell; Vincent Beers, Des Moines, Iowa, and Paul and Walter of Howard. There are 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hudrlek, Mrs. Harold Hissam and Harold; Jr., Owatonna, Minn.; Eva Trebon, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Richter, Rock Valley, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kaskie, Mr. Vincent Kaskie, Mitchell; Vincent Beers, Viola Smith, Deida Kuhle, Des Moines, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kaskie, Montrose; Mr. and Mrs. John Kerkliet, Mrs. Lena Kock, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lauer, Salem; Mr. and Mrs. Robert DeLay, Mr. and Mrs. Francis DeLay, Egan; Mrs. Robert Detterman, Ward; Mr. and Mrs. John Kuhle, Sioux Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buthe and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Unterbrunner, Carthage.
