Funeral services were held Thursday March 17, at St. Patrick's church, Montrose, S.D., for Adeline Kaskie, former Rock Valley resident, and daughter of the late Matilda Trebon and William Kaskie.
Father O'Connor officiated at the funeral Mass and burial was held at St. Mary's cemetery in Rock Valley with Fr. David McGoey officiating at the graveside service.
Adeline Kaskie was born, at Storm Lake, Iowa, August 22, 1889 and died at Montrose, S D, March 17, 1955 She came to Rock Valley with her parents and lived here all her life until they moved to Barnsville, Minn.
She attended public and parochial school in Rock Valley and graduated from St Mary's in 1910. She taught school several years until the family, moved to Vilas, S.D., and then to Montrose in 1934 where she lived until her death.
Her parents preceded her in death and also one brother, Arthur. She is survived by a brother, Lawrence, with whom, she was making her home, and two other brothers, Roy and Vincent, at Mitchell, S D, and one sister, Mrs. Peter Beers, of Howard, S.D.
Pall bearers were her nephews, Angelo Beers, Paul Beers, Joe Kaskie, Vincent Beers, Myles Kaskie and Walter Beers.
Those who attended from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. E.F. Kaskie and Mrs. Roy Kaskie of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Beers, Mr and Mrs Paul Beers, Mr and Mrs Peter Beers, Angelo Beers, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kaskie, Daryl and Delda of Howard, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Langan, Aurora, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kaskie, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Kaskie and Jerry, of Mitchell, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kaskie of Sioux Falls, Myles Kaskie and Kathy Bonnell of Denver, Colo.
