Donald Joseph Kaskie, 80, of Forest, died on April 12, 2011, at Rush Hospital in Meridian.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 29, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Forest. Family and friends are invited to gather after the service at the parish hall.
Wolf Funeral Services of Morton is in charge of arrangements.
Don was born in Rock Valley, Iowa, on March 4, 1931. After serving in the U.S. Anny, he joined Cudahy Packing Company in 1952 and held positions in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Mississippi. Don and his wife, Patricia, moved to Forest in 1955 and were founding members of St. Michael Catholic Church. Don retired in 2003 as comptroller for Lady Forest Farms.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Kathryn; and his sister, Sally.
Survivors include his wife, Pat, and eight children: Stephen Kaskie of Hazlehurst, Michael Kaskie of Prairie Village, Kans., Kathleen Risher of Houston, Texas, Mark Kaskie of Forest, Julianne France of Houston, Texas, Rev. Brian Kaskie of McComb, Kristin (Al) Hagan of Houston, Texas, and Daniel (Alicia) Kaskie of Richmond, Texas; seven grandchildren: Andrew Kaskie and Katie (Jason) Hodges of Hazlehurst, Rachel and Mitchell Kaskie of Prairie Village, Kans., Adam, Allison and Ryan France of Houston, Texas; one greatgrandchild, Lillian Hodge of Hazlehurst; brothers, Bernie Kaskie of Lennox, S.D., and Leonard Kaskie of Inwood, Iowa.
Memorials may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church of Catholic Charities m lieu of flowers.
