Soldatke -Kaskie exchange vows
Wedding vows were exchanged by Dolores Soldatke, Sioux Falls, daughter of Mrs. Clara Soldatke, Granville, S.D. and Leonard Kaskie, son of Mrs. Kathryn Kaskie, Rock Valley, an St Joseph's Cathedral, Sioux Falls, at 9 a.m. June 8.
Father Offerman officiated at the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with gladioli and mums.
The bride given in marriage by her brother, Melvin Soldatke, wore a four-tiered floor-length gown of chantilace and nylon organza. The basque bodice featured a sabrina neckline and the skirt was bouffant. A crown of aurora crystals and seed pearls secured her fingertip veil of imported English illusion. She carried a cascade of red roses.
Mrs. Gary Inglis, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a street length dress of pink organza featuring a light pink bodice and matching pink veil hat. She carried white carnations tipped in pink. Bridesmatron was Mrs. Leonard Gruby, sister of the bride. She wore a light blue street length dress of organza with a lace bodice and matching veil hat and carried white carnations tipped in blue.
The groom was attended by Roger Frembgen as best man, and his brother, Bernard Kaskie, Lennox, S.D., as groomsman. Ushers were James VanBerkum and Carlyle Hamann.
Nuptial music was provided by Ronald Schallenkamp, organist.
The bride's mother wore a blueish grey dress and the groom's mother chose a pink lace and taffeta dress. Both wore corsages of white roses.
The 135 guests were registered by Mrs. Ed Paul, sister of the groom.
A reception was held in the History club, Sioux Falls, following the ceremony.
Gifts were opened and displayed by Mrs. Paul Soldatke, Bernice Hockstein and Mrs. Mark Carmon. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Soldatke were dining room host and hostess.
The wedding cake, decorated in blue and pink, was cut and served by Mrs. Melvin Soldatke. Marty and Marce Soukup were at silver service.
Waitresses were Marilyn Kaskie, Darlene Soldatke and Lilas Huebner.
As a going away outfit the bride chose a white picque sheath dress with a pink design.
The bride is employed with Northwestern Bell Co., Sioux Falls, and the groom is employed with the Thornburg Co.
After a wedding trip to Fond Du Lac, Wis., the couple will make their home at 1809 13th street, Rock Valley.

Dolores Kaskie
Dolores Kaskie, 64, of Inwood died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Canton-Inwood Hospital.
Services were Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Valley, with interment in the church cemetery.
Dolores Soldatke was born Sept. 28, 1937, at Grenville, S.D. After graduating from Grenville Catholic High School in 1956, she worked for Bell Telephone at Sioux Falls, S.D.
On June 8, 1963, she married Leonard Kaskie. They lived in Rock Valley where she worked at Rock Valley Bee. They later lived in Sutherland where she was secretary at Sacred Heart Catholic Church until moving back to Rock Valley in 1990. They moved to Inwood in 1998 where she lived at Fellowship Village.
Survivors include her husband; two brothers, Melvin and Joe, both of Sioux Falls, and one sister, Mrs. Leonard (Virginia) Gruby of Eden, S.D.
