Vincent F. Beers, 74, of 7419 Madison Ave., Urbandale, died of a stroke Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, of which he was a member, with burial at Glendale Cemetery.

Mr. Beers was born in Bridgewater, SD., and had lived in the area for 45 years. He was a retired district supervisor for the Broklow Co.

Survivors include his wife, Viola; a daughter, Wanda Abbott of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Paul and Angelo, both of Howard, S.D.; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home today at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to his church.
