An automobile accident one mile north of here Monday killed Elmer "Red" Ernst, 38, Holt county road workman, and injured three others.
Sheriff Peter Duffy said Ernst's car collided with the parked car in which Mr. and Mrs. Charles Novak of Bristow were riding. Mr. Novak suffered a compound leg fracture, and Mrs. Novak serious bruises. Freddie Tenberg, 25, of Emmet, riding with Ernst, escaped with slight injuries.
J. D. Cronin, coroner, indicated an inquest will be held. Lights on the Novak car had failed, causing it to be stopped, Sheriff Duffy said.
Inquest Postponed
O'NEILL, Neb., Oct. 25
Holt county coroner J. D. Cronin said today he has postponed for a week an inquest into the death of Elmer Ernst, Holt county road workman killed in an automobile accident near here yesterday. Funeral services for Ernst will be held here tomorrow. His widow and three daughters survive.
