Helen Schemmer, 72, of Patricksburg died Wednesday at her residence.

Born Feb. 19, 1922, in Buchanan, Va., she was the daughter of Eugene and Rebbe (Campbell) Smith. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Bloomington. She was a former member of the St. John-St. Paul Community Church.

Survivors include her husband, Clinton Wm; one son, Jeff Schemmer of Bloomington; two daughters, Carolyn Goddard of Mount Vernon, Ill., and Susan Dewitt of Louisville, Ky.; one sister, Mabel Piercy of Richmond, Va.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Clinton Schemmer.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at West and Parrish and Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer with the Revs. Hugh Laughlin and Jack Wolff officiating. Burial will be at Chambersville Cemetery.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
