Mary Ann Gelhaus, age 93, of Coldwater, died on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born February 13, 1922 in Anna, Ohio to the late Ben G. & Alice (Hoying) Baumer. On October 2, 1946, she married Edward W. Gelhaus and he died May 26, 2005.
She is survived by three children, Ken & Patti Gelhaus of Coldwater, Marlene & Larry Stange of Ft. Wayne and Judy & Gary Griewe of Findlay, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 12 step great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Elmer & Virginia Baumer of Columbus, Victor Baumer of Minster, Viola Clausen of Dayton, Roman & Joan Baumer of Minster, Joseph & Virginia Baumer of Minster and Marvin & Connie Baumer of North Royalton.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Janice Gelhaus, a grandchild, a step great grandchild, and in laws Mary Ann Baumer, Al Braun and Bud Clausen.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality and the St. Cecilia Knights of St. John Auxiliary all of Coldwater. She was a longtime employee at the former Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Coldwater.
Mary Ann was an avid card player, made handmade quilts; cross stitched and followed the Cincinnati Reds.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
