Bernadette Uhlenhake And Paul Hasenkamp Are Wed at St. Henry
On Saturday, June 5, at 8:30 a.m. the St. Henry church was the scene or a very beautiful June weding when Bernadette Uhlenhake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Uhlenhake, became the bride of Paul Hasenkamp, son of Mrs. Mary Hasenkamp, Hudson, Mich. Rev. Herbert G. Kramer, C.PP.S., uncle of the bride, heard the exchange of vows, read the double ring ceremony and nuptial high mass in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. The girls choir sang the mass. Miss Rita Winklejohn sang the "Ave Marie" and "On This Day, O Beautiful Mother" was sung by the girls' choir.
Mildred Goetlemoeller, close friend of the bride, was bridesmaid. Janet Klosterman, cousin of the bride, was Junior bridesmaid. Eileen Blankemeyer, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Paul Wilker, cousin or the bride, was ring bearer. Carl Uhlenhake, brother of the bride, served the groom as best man.
The bride was lovely in her period gown slipper satin designed with a filled bodice with a high neckline on a marquisette yoke, finished with a shirred satin bertha, and long sleeves, which tapered over the hands. The full skirt was shirred to show a rutted marquisette petticoat and was complete with a long train. Her fingertip veil of silk illusion tulle was caught to a tiara or orange blossoms and lace. She carried while roses centered with an orchid and a Mother or Pearl rosary, gift of the groom. Her only ornament was a gold necklace worn by her mother on her wedding day.
The bride's attendants wore gowns of organdy similar to that of the bride's. Miss Goettemueller wore yellow and her headdress was a halo hat made of yellow organdy and satin ribbon. Miss Klosterman wore light blue and her headdress was a halo made of light blue organdy and satin ribbon. They carried pink roses and wore a single strand of pearls, gifts from the bride. Eileen Blankemeye wore white and her headdress was a halo made of white organdy and satin ribbon. She carried white roses and wore a gold cross und chain, gift from the bride.
Paul Wilker wore a while Palm Beach and carried the rings in a white lily. The groom and his best man wore blue suits and white carnations boutonnieres.
The bride's mother wore a gray dress with accessories and a corsage of pink roses. The groom's mother wore a light blue crepe dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses. The bride's father wore a gray suit and a white carnation boutonniere.
When the bride and groom arrived at home, they were greeted at the door by Mary Lee Trentman, niece or the groom, who recited an appropriate speech and served wine.
Dinner was served at the bride's home to about 85 relatives and friends. The recetion was held at the American Legion hall with about 250 relatives and friends present.
On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Hasenkamp left on a two week trip to the Northwest and West. For her going away outfit the new Mrs. Hasenkamp wore a white linen suit with white accessories and the orchid corsage from her bridal bouquet.
Mrs. Hasenkamp graduated from St. Henry high school and was formerly employed at Mersmans. Mr. Hasenkmap is employed at Adrian, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Hasenkamp are now at home in Hudson, Mich.

DELPHOS
Paul G. Hasenkamp, 39, 627 W. First, died at his home Monday after suffering a heart attack.
He was born in Fort Jennings Aug. 12, 1925, the son of Joseph and Mary Hasenkamp.
He was married June 5, 1948 to Bernadette Uhlenhake who survives with three daughters, Theresa, Martha and Doris, and three sons, Thomas, James and Kenneth, all at home.
Six sisters, Mrs. Syl (Elanore) Bendele of Brooklyn, Mich., Mrs. Edward (Alice) Blankemeyer of Delphos, Mrs. Gilbert (Florence) Trentman of Delphos, Mrs. Thomas (Henriettae) Calvelage of Fort Jennings, Mrs. Donald (Leona) Garno of Traverse City, Mich., and Mrs. Robert(Loretta) Calvelage of Scottsdale, Ariz., and a brother, Herman Hasenkamp of Delphos.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Holy Name society. He was a service station attendant.
Requiem High Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church by Rev. Joseph I. Schill. Burial be in St. John's Cemetery.
