Services for Norman Weikert, 23, of Frederick, the 60th traffic death in Dayton and Montgomery county for 1952, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Tipp City. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery. Friends may call at the Hale funeral home, West Milton, after 2 p.m. Sunday.
Weikert was killed at about 2 p.m. Friday on Frederick rd., near Peters pike, when his can skidded from the road and crashed into a tree. He was an employe of Frigidaire division, General Motors Corp. and apparently was on his way home from work.
[Editor's Note: The following is an excerpt from Dayton Daily News - Aug 23, 1952, from an article concerning traffic fatalities in the area.] With the exception of a short residence at 25 Pioneer st. in Dayton, Weikert had lived at Frederic most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Alvera; two daughters, Connie Marie and Teresa Ann; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Weikert; a sister, Sunny Dawn, and four brothers, James, Jack, Timothy and Thomas, all of Frederick.
