EDWIN KNAPKE

Edwin J. Knapke, 93, 4292 Fort Recovery-Minster Rd., St. Henry, died Sunday, February 2 at 5:42 p.m. at Mercer Medical Center, Springfield, of heart failure.

He was born July 14, 1898, in St. Henry to John and Catherine (Herman) Knapke, on November 9, 1927, he was married in St. Henry to Margaret Kramer, who died April 30, 1991.

Surviving are three children, Alfred, St. Henry. Mrs. Carl (Mary Ann) Washburn, Springfield, and Mrs. Tim (Nellie) Barnes, Chicago: two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Irene) Selhorst, Osgood, and Mrs. Marie Dannenfelser, Cincinnati; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A sister and two brothers are deceased.

He was a retired farmer and member of St. Henry Catholic Church, where a funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Joseph Pax officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Hogenkamp's Funeral Home, St. Henry, handled the arrangements.
