Dies Of Heart Attack On His 63 Birthday
Julius J. Wilker, of Celina route 5, former St. Marys resident. died suddenly Thursday at 8:30 a. m. of a heart attack at his home. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Joint Township Memorial hospital.
Mr. Wilker, actively engaged in farming, was born in Guadalupe, Mercer County, April 23, 1901. He was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Schmitmeyer Wilker. On July 22, 1925 he married Gertrude Walker who survives with nine children. They are Martin and Charles, both of Celina route 5, Jerome, New Bremen route 1; Lester, Celina Road, St Marys; Wilfred, New Bremen, Bernard, St Marys rural route; Gerald, Wapakoneta route 2; Mrs. Earl Mangen, Houston route 1 and Paul of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Also surviving are 28 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Ulrich Boehmer and Mrs. Ed Schweller, both of Dayton, and one brother, Louis Wilker of Montezuma. Five brothers and four sisters are deceased.
Mr. Wilker was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic church and the Holy Name Society of the church. He was a member, too, of the Knights of Columbus, St. Marys and the Catholic Knights of America, Coldwater.
A solemn requiem high mass was offered in Holy Rosary church Monday at 9:30 a. m. Father Herbert Kramer, C.PP.S., brother-in-law of the deceased, officiated and burial was made in Gethsemane cemetery.
