Bernard Wilker, 71, of St. Marys, died at 6 a.m. Aug. 17, 2004, at his residence.
He was born March 7, 1933, in St. Marys, to Julius and Gertrude Kramer Wilker. On Nov. 5, 1955, he married Marceil Brunswick who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Ben (Cristy) of Elida, Dan (Traycee) of Lima, Don of Dublin, and Andy of St. Marys; and five daughters, Doris (Doug) Knapke, New Bremen, Norma (Jeff) Hostetler, Cedarville, Lill (Steve) Borchers, Versailles, Angela (Steve) Putman, Wilmington, Sandra (Todd) Miller, Troy; and 25 grandchildren.
Other survivors include seven brothers, Martin of Celina, Jerome and Wilfred of New Bremen, Lester of Tennessee, Charles of St. Marys, Gerald of Versailles, and Paul of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and a sister, Carolyn Mangen, Versailles.
A son-in-law, Daniel Goubeaux, is deceased.
He was a retired pipefitter and plumber, working with Local 776 out of Lima for 35 years. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where he had been a communion distributor and a member of the church building and maintenance committees, and the Knights of Columbus Council 1592, both of St. Marys. He served 15 months in Korea in the U.S. Army.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Leo Hoying officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
