Clarence Joseph Augustin Neidert, 80, of Loretto, Tenn., passed away Jan. 17, 2008. He was a farmer and the former owner of Neidert Seed Co. in Loretto, Tenn., for more than 50 years. He was a member of Loretto Sacred Heart Church. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and was a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran.
Mr. Neidert was preceded in death by sisters, Agnes Smith and Beatrice Stumpe, and brothers, Aloysius (Bud), Edward, Charles and Wilfred.
Mr. Neidert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha Bradley Neidert; son, Jamie B. Neidert and wife, Brenda, of Huntsville, Ala.; daughter, Jennifer Dunkin and husband, Thomas, of Loretto; grandchildren, Michelle Dunkin, of Loretto, Jessica Kizer and husband, Jeremy, of Loretto, Lucas K. Neidert, of Huntsville, Heather Dunkin, of Loretto; sisters, Annie Reeves and Mary Elanor Weathers, of Loretto, and Helen Peters, of St. Florian, Ala.
Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at Greenhill Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m., with a prayer vigil from 7-7:30 p.m. The funeral Mass will be Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Loretto, with Father Tommy Joseph and Deacon Sammy Beckman officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Loretto.
Mr. Neidert loved his family, his church, farming, tomatoes, music, the weather, the Chicago Cubs and the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Neidert, Thomas Dunkin, Lucas Neidert, Jeremy Kizer, Bobby Joe Neidert, Joseph Reeves, Mike Bradley and Malcolm Weathers III.
