Donna Marie Neidert Simbeck, age 62, passed away Friday, April 29, 2005, in Lawrenceburg, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward J. and Mary O'Connor Neidert.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years. Donie Kenith Simbeck of Loretto, Tenn.; three daughters, Dana (Rick) Dodd of Nashville, Tenn., Dawn (Tre) Hargett of Bartlett, Tenn., and Danielle (Jeremy) Busby of Loretto; and one son, Damien (Regina) Simbeck of Killen, Ala.; four granddaughters, Christina and Elizabeth Simbeck of Killen, Ala., and Emma Scott and Addison Busby of Loretto; and one grandson, Cole Hargett of Bartlett, Tenn.
She is also survived by four sisters, Cathy (Doug) Bradley, Anthionette (Robert) Beuerlein, both of Loretto; Sharon Neidert of Richmond, Va., and Jan (Ray) Neweil of Columbia, Tenn.; 22 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Simbeck was a graduate of Sacred Heart School, Loretto, and Loretto High School. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of North Alabama.
She taught third and fourth grades at Sacred Heart School and mathematics at Loretto High School.
At Loretto High School, she directed the chorus and coached math teams. She was voted Loretto High School's Teacher of the Year and Lawrence County Teacher of the Year in 1993. She was a member of the Lawrence County and Tennessee education associations and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was organist for nearly 40 years and served as choir director. She was also a member of the Altar Society.
Visitation was Saturday, April 30, from 4-9 p.m. at Loretto Memorial Chapel and will be Sunday, May 1, from 5-8 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church with prayer service at 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Matthew Cheeramkuzhy of Sacred Heart Church, Father Richard Bucbignani of Sacred Heart Lawrenceburg, Abbot Victor Clark of St. Michael's, Florence, Ala., Father Bruce Cinquegrani of St. Ann Church, Bartlett, Tenn., and Deacon Sam Beckman on Monday, May 2, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Loretto.
Memorials may be sent to the Sacred Heart Education Endowment, the Loretto High School Library or the American Cancer Society at the request of the family.
