MRS. ANNA SALZ.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Salz, 89, who died Friday at 11:45 p. m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Patrick Doherty, 52 Franklin St., will be Tuesday at 10 a. m. at St. Joseph's Catholic church.
The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Luke B. Striegel, a nephew, will officiate at the Requiem High Mass. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Mrs. Salz died of complications incident to advanced age following a long illness.
A resident of Waterloo 75 years, Mrs. Salz was born July 23, 1865, on a farm in Buchanan county, a daughter of Joseph and Agnes Zuraff Burchinsky.
She was married Nov. 7, 1887, to John J. Salz who died in 1898. Mrs. Salz was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church, its Rosary Society and the Third Order of St. Francis.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Patrick Doherty, with whom she resided, and Sister Mary Rembert, BVM, of Manley, and three sons, John P. Salz, 112 Franklin St., William B. of Decorah, and Andrew L., Phoenix, Ariz.
There are also a sister, Mrs. Agnes Thompson, 321 East 2nd St., and a brother, Joseph, San Diego, Calif., as well as 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, one son, three sisters and two brothers in addition to her husband.
